Growing up we always went and cut down our own Christmas tree every year as a family. It is some of my favorite memories at Christmas time. Matt really wanted this to be a tradition we carried out with our family because he loves real trees and the out doors. Last year Lincoln was too small to cut down our own so we got a real tree at Lowes. This was our first official "cutting down our tree" family tradition!! It was a lot of fun and Lincoln had a blast (even if he was so bundled up he could hardly move). We picked quite a large tree too, it hardly fit through our door! However, the tree is Lincoln's main focus right now. I have lost my battle and it is now only decorated from three feet up. It looks quite strange ( I will take a picture of it), but that is okay. Lincoln has had lots of fun with it and loves to watch the pine needles fall. I can not wait to see his excitement this year on Christmas. So far he loves the lights and thinks that Santa and Frosty have pretty cool hats!
On another note Lincoln is stringing words together. Such as "Here it is," "No mama nigh night" (meaning he wants his blanket which he calls a nigh night) I can never think when I am typing! I know there are more, but I will post as I remember them! We have also learned NO and DON'T....two words that I would love for him to unlearn. When I say one, he says two, three. He is picking things up daily, what a fun age!! Oh! and he is wanting me to rock him to sleep at night, I know it is not a good habit, but I LOVE IT!! As with everything I am sure it is a stage, so I will enjoy it while he wants me to. So cuddly and cute!
